You are not alone. You are not crazy.

Many Christians today feel spiritually homeless. We love Jesus, take Scripture seriously, and want to live faithfully, but the loudest voices claiming Christ time and time again advocate for policies and principles which directly contradict the character of God.

We believe that distortion cannot be ignored.

Black Dove Society exists to be a home for Christians who refuse silence in the face of injustice and refuse hatred in the name of faith.

We follow Jesus as He is revealed in Scripture, not as a symbol of power, nationalism, or vengeance, but as the crucified and risen Lord whose kingdom is marked by mercy, justice, and peace.

This is not a partisan project.

It is a faithful one.

We are a community committed to:

  • forming our consciences together
  • grounding our public life in serious Christian theology
  • and acting courageously and nonviolently for the good of our neighbors

We believe true peace (shalom) requires justice, and that Christians have a public responsibility to pursue both.

If you are weary of choosing between your faith and your conscience, you belong here.

What this is – and what it is not

This is:

  • a community of formation, not just reaction
  • a place to learn better language for faith and public life
  • a space to grow courage alongside others, not alone
  • a commitment to nonviolence, dignity, and neighbor love

This is not:

  • a church replacement
  • a political party or voting guide
  • a rage-driven activist collective
  • a place to dunk on “the other side”

We move slowly, deliberately, and together, because faithfulness lasts longer than outrage.

How do you get involved?

  1. Come and Listen: Your first step is simply to observe. Read. Watch. Listen. Ask questions. No one is pressured to speak, post, protest, or perform.
  2. Learn the Language: Many Christians feel what is wrong but lack words for it. We provide:
    1. Theological frameworks
    2. Scripture-centered teaching
    3. Historical and ethical grounding
    4. This is about formation before action.
  3. Join the Community: When you’re ready, fill out the form at the bottom of this page. Joining means:
    1. Committing to nonviolence
    2. Honoring the dignity of all people
    3. Engaging disagreement with love and humility
    4. Refusing silence when harm is done to the vulnerable
  4. Act—Together: No one is sent out alone. As trust grows, members may:
    1. Speak publicly
    2. Support advocacy efforts
    3. Participate in creative or protest actions
    4. Help others find courage and clarity

Final Notes

This community is not for everyone.

It requires patience, courage, and a willingness to be formed, not just affirmed. But for those who stay, it offers something rare: faithful companionship in public responsibility.

If you’ve been waiting for permission to take Jesus seriously and love your neighbor without fear, consider this your invitation.

Curious? Start by listening. Follow along. Read our materials. Join a conversation.

When you’re ready, we’ll walk the rest of the way together.
